DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer to help us build the future. In the Transportation New Technology team, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how customers will get what they need in the coming decades. We are building intelligent software using computer vision, machine learning, and sensor fusion in order to make transportation more reliable, faster, and less costly, providing a better and less expensive experience for our customers. This role offers the rare opportunity to shape the future of supply-chain execution; to change the world by optimizing and reinventing transportation, fulfillment and logistics on a global scale. We do work that impacts hundreds of Fulfillment Centers (FCs), thousands of associates, and millions of customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
· 3+ years of Software Engineering Experience in C/C++, Java, Phyton or other OO languages.
· 3+ years of working knowledge of best practices in software engineering including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, design patterns, testing and DevOps.
· Experience with Machine Learning / Deep Learning / Artificial Intelligence
· Experience with embedded driverless and robotics technologies, motion planning and execution and low-level software control of actuation components and sensors on a safety setting.
· Demonstrated ability to reach stretch goals in a highly innovative environment
· Ability to innovate in an ambiguous space
· Excellent analytical, design and problem-solving skills
· Experience building highly available systems operating 24/7
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.

· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
