Job description
We are looking for outstanding Software Development Engineer Interns to join us in Summer 2018 for a fixed term. You will join one of the teams working out of the Amazon Development Centre in Cambridge, England. Teams at this location include: Alexa, the cloud based voice service that drives products such as the Echo and Fire TV; Core Machine Learning, a team dedicated to improving the use of Machine Learning at Amazon and around the world; Lab 126, that develops application, device and cloud software for Amazon's consumer electronic devices; and Prime Air, Amazon's autonomous drone-delivery project.

All projects at Amazon are characterized by their scale, complexity and need for invention. We offer great opportunities to work on big data, machine learning, natural language processing and high-scale, low-latency distributed systems.

Development
You will be joining an experienced team of scientists and engineers, giving you a chance to grow and learn in a supportive and innovative environment. You will be responsible for your own learning and development with guidance and coaching from your manager, buddy and colleagues around you. What are we looking for?
You are working towards a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. You demonstrate a solid grounding in Computer Science and Software Engineering and are an active participant in software development or engineering efforts outside of your current coursework. We work primarily in Java, C++ and Python, but your comfort in any modern programming language will help you learn quickly.
