DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a talented Senior Vendor Manager (SVM) to run a new business for AU. This role is a perfect opportunity for someone who is inspired by a new challenge and wants to be a part of something big in AU. You will join a high performing team, working alongside exceptionally bright and motivated colleagues to create a world class shopping experience for customers.

The best candidate has a high level of motivation and a demonstrated history of overcoming hurdles. The SVM needs to be highly resilient and willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done. They need to be comfortable making decisions in the face of ambiguity.

They also possess a broad skill set, with demonstrated career progression and a proven track record of delivering results. They possess strong analytical acumen, superb business judgment, negotiation skills, and have a propensity to dive deep and solve complex problems. They will be used to working with a high degree of autonomy. The SVM has the leadership presence and communication skills to effectively work with vendors at all levels of an organization (Account Manager, National Sales Manager, GM and CEO).
The SVM’s responsibilities include:

· Creating a world class shopping experience for their business line, a store featuring more products, brands, & more compelling content than any store, online or off.

· Become an expert on their categories, passionate about technology, retail and trends whilst continually monitoring developments in market.

· Setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.

· Leading negotiations with vendors, resolving disputes and delivering best in class terms for Amazon.

· Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and scale within the category and across the Retail business.

· Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines.

· On board new vendors, manage vendor relationships, educate them on the Amazon proposition and help them succeed online.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in Finance, Engineering, Business or related discipline is preferred.
· Experience in a start-up or early stage environment where you defined best practice for your function
· Experience in negotiations having exposure to Scotwork, GAP or similar.
· MBA with relevant business experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A relevant Bachelor’s degree.
· 6-8 years of relevant work experience at a senior level role in retail, finance, operations or management consulting.
· 3+ years of external relationship management experience with a track record of being able to influence outcomes.
· Highly polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating
· 3+ years’ experience in leading negotiations.
· Advanced experience with Excel, SQL or other analytical/Business Intelligence tools – ability to analyse large data sets to make strategic decisions.
