Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) service offered by Amazon Web Services. We operate in over 50 locations worldwide and provide advanced functionality such as latency-based routing (LBR), Private DNS, Geo DNS routing, DNS failover, and integration with Amazon CloudFront, Amazon S3, and Amazon Elastic Load Balancing. On top of that, we offer fast change propagation with a 100% availability SLA. Our service is quickly growing and we're expanding in multiple directions: adding new features and functionality to our DNS services, better traffic management, new AWS integrations, improving our health check capabilities, and expanding with new services in the naming and routing space.

Perimeter Protection defends customers of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon.com against DDoS attacks and web application threats. As attacks grow in size and complexity, customers look to our three public services, AWS Shield, AWS WAF, and AWS Firewall Manager for protection, so that they can focus instead on growing their business. We build everything from low level packet inspection hardware/software to customer-facing AWS services to globally distributed systems capable of mitigating the world's largest and most sophisticated attacks. Threats are constantly evolving, so Perimeter Protection is developing brand-new services and always-on mitigations that scale automatically with zero impact to application latency or performance to protect against attacks such as data theft, denial of service, malware, industrial espionage, and zero-day vulnerability exploits.
We are looking for Software Managers who will:
· Provide a service that is core to all modern Internet businesses

· Operate an AWS business with globally distributed servers and customers at a massive scale
·
· Own one of the lowest latency and highest throughput services in all of AWS
·
· Mentor and be mentored by a great team of software managers
·
· Understand what it takes to grow and operate a global business at our scale
·
· Make critical design decisions with impact across AWS
The AWS Perimeter Protection and Route 53 teams work on deep, technical problems that span a variety of core topics in computer science ranging from databases to networking to distributed systems to numerical analysis to security. We are looking for leaders who feel strongly not only about building good software but also about running that software in the real world.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of software development management experience, preferably working on highly available software systems
· 5+ years of software development experience
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
