AWS Public Sector is creating a team to deliver rapid development capabilities to our healthcare customers. AWS is looking for a world class software development engineers to build capabilities focused on healthcare and genomics. You will work with the Product Manager, the software development manager, customers, and your software development team to deliver AWS Quick Starts, software assets, and build an open source community that drives innovation in healthcare using AWS.
As a software development engineer, you must design, develop, test, and deploy well architected software. You must be able to dive deep into the details on operations and engineering. Everyone is a leader at AWS. You will have a lot of ownership and autonomy. You will have to be obsessed with delivering the most customer-centric experience on the planet. You’ll need to be able to invent and simplify which is what we do every day in Amazon. We need leaders that are able to look at problems in new ways, inventing simple solutions to complex problems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

achelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
· Experience with Amazon Web Services
· Experience in the healthcare industry
· Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards
· Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers from ground up
· Experience with front-end development
· Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software engineers or software developers in all aspects of their engineering duties.
· Experience getting things done through collaboration with engineers on multiple teams.
· Familiarity with professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations.
· Experience and/or a strong interest in machine learning software systems and big data software systems.
· Experience communicating with users, software development engineering teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features and technical designs.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years industry experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer.
· Demonstrated Computer Science and development fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
· Demonstrated proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C.
· Demonstrated experience serving as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle, end-to-end, from scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance.
· Demonstrated knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· 1+ years of experience building large-scale software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
· Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end software systems and all points in between.
