Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) is hiring for a Reliability and Maintenance Engineer!
Here at Amazon we are looking to hire an experienced Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to coordinate with the 3rd party vendor and manage the equipment in one of our highly automated and fast-paced Amazon Air Hubs.
The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is the site lead for all Reliability and Engineering matters within the building. They are responsible for coordinating with the 3rd party maintenance vendor, focusing on building a culture of safety and equipment reliability. They are also responsible for providing a high level of equipment availability to the General Manager and are required to take part in network wide improvements/initiatives and implement standards created in the network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinate with the 3rd party RME vendor to drive high levels of performance in all KPI's, and system functionality
· Work with the site Safety department & Site Leadership to implement, record and audit safety and statutory compliance programs to provide a safe working environment for all staff. Own the legal responsibilities as the site engineering lead within this framework.
· Work with the 3rd party recruitment team to ensure allocated headcount is filled with high quality experienced staff. This may include support to Apprentice and Graduate programs
· Implement standards validated by the WW Engineering team and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to create or update standards as required in order to provide high levels of safety and equipment availability to our internal customers. A key focus is on preventative maintenance programs
· Maintain equipment failure contingency plans drive rehearsals with affected parties and be prepared to work in a flexible manner to ensure failures or breakdowns are rectified as quickly as possible
· Maintain a long-term focus by working with Site Management, Finance, the WW Engineering team and internal design teams to plan for future growth, upgrades or new equipment rollouts
· Drive equipment reliability by implementing continuous based monitoring maintenance programs and partnering with Reliability SMEs to improve conveyor up time
· Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes and implement process improvements or retraining to avoid future incidents
· Communicate technical issues and project timelines with building leadership, operations and the maintenance team. Explain production impacts
· Handle flexible work load assigned by Management or Operations
· Travel at least 20% of the time across all time zones in North America
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any field), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field or 2+ years Amazon experience providing technical support to field maintenance teams
· 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in reliability, maintenance, process, manufacturing, and condition monitoring of machines
· Hands-on experience in material handling systems (MHS) installation, operation and maintenance, use of CMMS, & preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
· Familiarity of analytical techniques and ROI analysis to build business cases
· Experience teaching, mentoring, and developing both exempt and non-exempt employees.
· Experience working with others to implement new systems and drive initiatives in multiple sites
