Play a leading role in operational risk improvement at Amazon.com, where we have a history and tradition of leading the world in innovative technologies and services. Amazon is seeking an experienced Risk Analyst or Claims Professional to join and support an industry leading insurance claims management team located in Seattle, Washington. This position will investigate, evaluate, manage, and control Auto Liability, General Liability, and Product Liability insurance claims. In this position, you will work with an established claims management team in the Risk Management department to develop, improve, and streamline global processes and procedures for the reporting and administration of claims to scale with Amazon's growth. Within the Treasury department, you will support and report to a Sr. Risk Manager. Roles and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Roles and Responsibilities
· Ensure timely and accurate reporting of claims to legal counsel, Third Party Administrator (TPA), and insurance providers.
· Ensure timely investigation and evaluation of events that could lead to claims.
· Assist the Risk claims team with claim related inquires and escalations.
· Act as liaison between Amazon operations, TPA, defense attorneys, and in-house counsel.
· Oversee outside vendors and/or TPA to ensure they are meeting service levels standards.
· Assist the Risk claims team in support and administrative functions within Risk Management.
· Provide general claim support to the Risk claims team to learn various lines of business with a focus on process and program improvements.
· Assist with establishing analytics, metrics, and benchmarking through multiple sources to evaluate loss trends and cost of risk to prioritize resources (e.g. RMIS, actuarial reports, and broker data).
· Organize and arrange new processes for the Risk claims team to track large losses and litigated claims.
· Work closely with the Risk claims team to improve current claims reporting and management processes and develop new options for various business teams as projects arise.
· Review claim data integrity and effectively organize and communicate findings to various internal stakeholders.
· Develop and foster strategic relationships, working collaboratively and in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
· Conduct claims training for internal stakeholders.
· Provide guidance and support for loss prevention matters to ensure an open, proactive, and effective risk management claims culture.
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· BA/BS degree
· 3-5 years experience in Auto Liability, General Liability and Product Liability insurance claims.
· Demonstrated knowledge of claims handling principles and application of state/country specific insurance laws.
· Demonstrated knowledge of liability insurance claims, damages, subrogation, contract, tort, and other applicable/related law.
