DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire an experienced multi-skilled Reliability Maintenance Technician to join the Reliability and Maintenance Engineering team in our Sort Centers on a permanent basis.
The RME Technician will be responsible for assisting in the housekeeping, general maintenance, and repair of the building. To provide a reactive and pro-active maintenance service to all end users and for the facilities infrastructure within the FC. The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operation. If facilities equipment is not available or performs badly it impacts both office and operational staff within the FC especially in the area of waste management. The role carries out basic facilities maintenance activity on shift and can affect how quickly issues are resolved; this can have a significant service and financial impact during peak times.
The main responsibilities are as follows:
· Follow the safety rules applicable to the site.
· Maintenance of buildings and outdoor spaces.
· Execute repairing and making improvements to building and infrastructure.
· Assists Facility and Engineering Technicians repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and
· Assists Facility and Engineering Technicians repairing and maintaining building pneumatic system.
· Completing basic preventative maintenance (PM) routines, documentation and procedures
· Perform battery changes, and preventive maintenance on batteries.
· Ability to do e-mail communication and date entry for database
· Enter downtime data in daily log, complete PM sheets.
· Electrical, knowledge of basics components.
· Troubleshooting. Ability to identify problems and understand resources, needed to resolve them.
· Tracking and storing the department's inventory, including spare parts.
· Support in green keeping.
· Support in winter services.
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
· Experience in tracking and storing the department's inventory, including spare parts.
· Experience in supporting Operations with installation and maintenance of display boards, pick/stow carts and receive/pack benches
· Ability to maintain and repair of the Facilities department tools.
· Experience of SLAM, Print and Apply, with the ability to operate the system and understand the relevance of key components and the skill to make minor adjustments.
· Electrical knowledge of basics components. Use test equipment with the ability to fault find on simple circuitry.
· HVAC- Basic understanding of equipment ability to clean filters.
· Plumbing- can shut off water and identify problems. Can carry out basic repairs/ unblock drains etc.
· Building lighting- able to change out lights. Troubleshooting of lights, displays and wiring.
· Compressor/Pneumatics- knows what they do and how to take readings. Able to reset, change out filters, oils and basic compressor experience.
· Experience in supporting continuous improvement in department.
· PC competency, Outlook, Word & Excel and Windows OS.
