DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Trade Compliance Manager to support our business on a broad range of import and export compliance matters in Europe. In this role, you will interact with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Tax, and other internal businesses and external stakeholders to drive trade compliance. This position will be located in Dublin, and will report directly to the Head of Global Trade and Product Compliance (GPTC) for AWS, in Seattle.

GTPC is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure equipment necessary to support the AWS services are imported/exported in a compliant manner across the multiple countries where AWS operates and will expand.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
· Coordinate end-to-end controls for AWS trade operations in Europe and ensure compliance with all European trade and product compliance regulations
· Manage compliance with local regulations, including any import or export licensing and reporting requirements
· Effectively evaluate transactions for compliance requirements relating to use of information security/encryption technology
· Determine import (HTS) coding
· Identify and implement compliant duty/tax savings opportunities
· Set up effective import/export processes and controls and drive trade compliance solutions that maximize import/export efficiency
· Monitor import/export regulatory and procedural change and clearly communicate those guidelines to stakeholders
· Analyze trends related to import/export processing and documentation to identify and communicate process improvements and process improvement opportunities
· Interface with cross functional groups to identify and rectify information/process gaps during the export/import process
· Build relationships with stakeholders
· Generate and contribute to performance metrics for all related activity

QUALIFICATIONS DE BASE

· Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
· Familiarity or experience with import/export regulations of the EU and surrounding European countries
· 10+ years of direct experience managing imports and/or exports in accordance with foreign government regulations

QUALIFICATIONS APPRÉCIÉES

· Master's Degree is a plus, but not required
· Customs Brokerage License a plus, but not required
· Experience engaging with regulators, and representing complex requirements for import and/or export activities preferred
· Familiarity with other international safety standards such as IEC 60950-1, IEC 62368, CISPR 24, CISPR32, CE marking, RoHS, REACH, WEEE and Battery Directive preferred.
· 3+ years of experience in analyzing business problems using different tools (such as Microsoft Office, and statistical analysis)
· 2+years of experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements
· Global logistics or supply chain experience
· Demonstrated exercise of sound judgment in uncertain situations
· Be able to prioritize activities with changing timelines
· Proven written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
