Job description
DESCRIPTION
The Sort Center Regional Manager is responsible for all safety, customer experience, quality process execution, people development and operational objectives for the assigned SC(s). He will lead a team of Operations and Shift Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to meet performance objectives. Also, he will continuously improve the efficiency of SC(s) processes and instill a culture of customer obsession, quality, and best-practice sharing. Although this is a managing position, it is still a hands-on role and expected to be involved in the day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
- Managing SC(s) inbound and outbound processes in a highly dynamic environment
- Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other lean initiatives to enable SC(s) to meet and exceed the operating plan
- Develop operational expertise on processes and activities, ensuring that best practice is shared within the network
- Measures performance, provides feedback and holds Shift Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their operations
- Responsible for the site's growth and collaborating with capacity planning and facilities for all growth workforce management needs
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed Bachelor's Degree in Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or 3+ years of Amazon experience
- Experience in transportation and distribution environments
- Advanced experience with Excel (V-lookup, pivot tables, macros)
- Demonstrated experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement
- Ability to communicate to various audiences both internal and external.
- Ability to balance and organize competing priorities in an ambiguous environment
- Fully Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate across business areas
- Candidates must be flexible with regional travel between facilities, working on nights or weekends depending on business needs
