QA Engineer - Amazon Video Mobile

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Video is looking for talented Quality Assurance Engineers (QAEs) for our Mobile platforms. As a QAE, you will serve as the quality lead and strategy owner for large cross-functional projects, help define the software development processes used, scope test requirements, and lead other engineers in creating quality test plans. You will get the opportunity to define quality metrics for complex projects, and identify trends to prevent future defects. You will work closely with Engineering, Product and UX teams as you develop high quality test plans for your features. As a QAE, you will also get multiple opportunities to show your leadership skills and recommend improvements to the way systems are designed and tested across Amazon Video. You can be part of Amazon's data driven culture and flex your business acumen through ROI and cost-benefit analysis.

You will be writing code using Java/Python/Objective-C and building automation on Android and iOS platforms. You will create lots of tools, build Fiddler/Wireshark plugins and explore fault injection mechanisms all with one final goal in mind - deliver a smooth and seamless video streaming experience to our customers.

A successful candidate will have an interest in testing consumer-facing products, strong technical ability, excellent organizational skills, great communication skills, a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment, and, of course, a passion for TV and film.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Experience testing on Mobile platforms (Android, iOS, Blackberry, Windows Phone)
- Experience developing in at least one of Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Ruby, Javascript
