Program Manager - Recruiting Analytics, Innovation and Research

  • Seattle (King County)
  • Project / Product management

Job description

DESCRIPTION

Are you an analytical and technically-minded individual who enjoys working with customers to launch new programs and products? The Biz Dev Recruiting AIR (Analytics, Innovation, and Research) team is seeking an experienced program manager to join us as we work to continuously improve efficiency and performance within Amazon's Business Development Recruiting organization.

As a Program Manager on the AIR team you will conceptualize and launch programs that help us move the needle on key initiatives like candidate identification, interviewer effectiveness, offer negotiation, and candidate experience. You will also contribute to the ongoing performance and future iterations of existing programs. Our roadmap evolves as the needs of our customers change but our immediate future includes projects related to launching new training programs for recruiters, implementing new technologies across the organization, building new dashboards to track progress on key goals, and more.

The program managers and business analysts on the AIR team have four primary focus areas:
1) Research & Development: We dig into data and talk to our customers daily to identify pain-points in the recruiting process. Then, we develop the tools and processes needed to reduce burdens and create efficiency.
2) Program Management: The Business Development recruiting organization consists of many individual teams. As the only centralized function within the org, the AIR team is responsible for launching, measuring, and iterating on programs that can be leveraged by all of our teams. We also consult with individual teams on program management best practices.
3) Reporting and Data Visualization: Providing data is central to our team's ongoing support of our recruiting partners. We understand that access to relevant and accurate data presented in an easily digestible format is key to our ability to earn the trust of the hiring teams we support.
4) Operational Optimization: Our focus on deliverables and reporting is balanced by the operational support necessary to maintain our commitments. We will look at opportunities to automate when possible and strive to optimize processes for the whole org vs. individuals. Scalability is central to our decision making - in a best case scenario, our inventions can be utilized by the entire company (and have been in many cases!).

Qualities that are most important to be successful in this role:
· High standards and impeccable attention to detail: our tools and analysis are considered "the source of truth" for making many business critical decisions.
· Strong critical thinking skills and good judgement: Sometimes the data we have available to make decisions doesn't tell the full story. Our team members ask the right questions and make smart choices about how to move forward when data and anecdotes don't line up.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills: You will be working with customers across the globe and we do a lot of communicating by email. Your ability to communicate effectively is critical to delivering projects.
· A desire to collaborate: Our team thrives on incorporating the ideas and feedback of others into our work. Recognizing and leveraging the skills and insights of those around you is just as important as what you bring to the table.
