DESCRIPTION

Amazon’s Prime Video, Live Events team is seeking a Program Manager to drive high-visibility projects and leverage Lean methodologies to lead Operational process improvement initiatives and help scale a fast growing business. If you are equally comfortable digging into business requirements as well as drilling into architecture and design with development teams, you may be the right person for this role.

The team’s core mission is to manage programs and workflows associated with delivering live content to Amazon customers. This involves interacting with sports and metadata partners, managing workflows through through the publishing process, and ensuring content is delivered to customers on-time, in pristine condition, in the format necessary to support our rapidly expanding service. In addition to continuously driving and improving execution of this core mission, you will work closely with cross-functional counterparts in product management, engineering, content acquisition, operations, and executive teams to ensure the teams and systems are supporting the broader growth of our business, launching new features, developing and growing business opportunities, and enhancing our customer experience.

You will define and drive the program roadmap to drive coverage, scalability and new use cases for live events. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. She or he will have a proven track record of taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Key activities include:
· Working closely with sports partners, metadata aggregators and post houses to deliver results and continuously improve the processes
· Establish goals, plans and related metrics, track progress, and manage through obstacles to achieve program objectives
· Create reporting and dashboards for key metrics to illustrate progress against goals to support team activities and report to management on weekly/monthly basis
· Work cross functionally with the content acquisition, product management, engineering, merchandising, and operations teams to document and define initiatives and drive them through execution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred
· Experience and understanding of digital media and/or digital video supply chain
· Passionate about understanding customers and their behavior in order to drive new feature development
· Preferred work experience in in an fast paced online environment
· Proven ability to deliver results and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
· Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating relevant results to senior management
· Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and marketing/business counterparts to deliver online products/services
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years experience in program or project management
· Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
· 3+ years experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
· Strong quantitative data analysis and critical thinking skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
· Ability to build positive long-term relationships with both internal and external partners and influence them to deliver results
· Strong leader who can prioritize well and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization with a proven ability to influence and engage senior executives
· Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, make tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with technical employees
· Develop functional requirements to create new tools or refine processes/policies.
· Develop business cases with policy and/or implementation recommendations to handle new areas of opportunity, including scaling with software.
