Operations Technology Infrastructure team is hiring a Process Improvement Engineer!

The Ops Tech Infrastructure organization manages projects and programs across business teams and operations groups within Amazon Fulfillment IT. Our projects deliver on the solutions that power the physical fulfillment of our customers’ orders. This includes management of site launches across the globe and directly supports shipping packages to millions of Amazon.com customers across the world.
We are looking for a strategic thinker who is passionate about IT and Operational Excellence, who thinks and acts at both local and global scale, and who has the ability to drive innovation and process improvement through Predictive Maintenance (Machine Learning / Deep Learning) and Kaizen methodologies.
The ideal candidate has outstanding business acumen, extreme curiosity, excellent analytical and technical skills, and the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams. He/she will have a strong bias toward data driven decision-making. He/she will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail), and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment, understanding global Operations and Amazon Customer Excellence Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, manage, and execute analysis to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations with specific focus on automation.
- Propose and implement key business and operational metrics to manage performance.
- Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
- Build scalable database solutions when required.
- Standardization and best practice global sharing.
- Continuous improvement and benchmark current process performance.
- Plan, project and drive selected pilots and hardware/software improvements rollouts.
- Drive Lean activities and build mechanisms to enable a shop floor culture of continuous root cause elimination. This includes Standard Work, 5S, Daily Kaizen, associate suggestions, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Core competencies of the role include:
- BSc or MSc on Engineering based discipline (specialization on automation, continuous process improvement or manufacturing).
- 5+ years demonstrated strong track record of team leadership or technical roles within an Operations, Manufacturing or IT function.
- Experience of complex operational processes, and continuous performance improvement projects.
- Experience across the full project lifecycle (analysis, design and implementation).
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams to deliver worldwide changes.
- Practical knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
- Practical knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to evaluate complex processes and financial scenarios.
- Experience building and measuring key operational metrics.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
