Job description

DESCRIPTION

Millions of customers visit Amazon.com each day to discover, research, and purchase products that fulfill their needs. As Earth's most customer-centric company, Amazon aims to make the shopping experience as convenient for our shoppers as possible. For over 20 years, the Personalization organization within Amazon has been focused on realizing this vision, by building recommender systems that distill our diverse catalog into a tailored, individualized shopping experience. Our features power customer-facing content broadly across Amazon's websites and mobile apps, supporting numerous product categories and programs globally.

Making this happen involves solving some of the most complex problems in technology. How should algorithms that suggest recommended products on Amazon's gateway page differ from those that target the search page, detail page, shopping cart page and the thank you page? What should we optimize for - clicks, units sold, sales or conversion? How should we deal with free products? What about frequent buyer programs like Amazon Prime? How should our algorithms and presentation differ for electronics versus groceries?

That's where you come in: the Personalization organization is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to help us execute effectively on the complex roadmaps that will answer these hard questions and more. This role is critical to ensuring the success of projects supporting millions of customers in their shopping missions as well as a significant portion of Amazon's revenue. In this role, you will need to manage cross-functional communication, identify & mitigate risks to efficient delivery, decompose ambiguous problems into straightforward solutions, prioritize competing opportunities, and drive understanding for engineering teams as well as the executive layer. The ideal candidate will possess a fearless ability to dive deep, push for timely results, and build consensus across organizations.

Amazon is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer – Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation.
