This role focuses on enabling our customers to rethink their relationship with technology from passive consumption of infrastructure and boxed software in fixed quantities to elastic everything and productivity-boosting higher-level abstractions. When our first cohort of enterprise customers such as Intuit, General Electric, and Samsung embraced AWS public cloud, they were able to bring new products to market faster, reach new markets sooner, experiment more, and stay more secure. Now, we see a large number of enterprises of all ages and sizes trying to replicate that success. They are interested in building new systems in the cloud but also in moving their existing core enterprise systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Analytics (Big Data) and Computational (HPC) clusters, data warehouses, and other "back office" systems. However, what many discover, is that they need help in order to properly apply cloud best practices to their specific environments. In order to best serve our customers and ensure their success, we are looking for technologists who have strong hands-on skills with enterprise technologies, passion for learning as well as for sharing their knowledge with others.
After joining our team, you will be provided with a ramp-up plan and a mentor to ensure you get off to a good start (see Roles & Responsibilities for more information). After that we will ask you to dive deeply into your customer's business and technology situations and help them identify which of their issues and goals can be best served by adopting AWS cloud. We will also ask you to enable the customers to be successful in their cloud adoption by answering their technical questions, removing technical blockers they encounter, delivering hands-on workshops, and providing architectural guidance. At AWS, Customer Obsession is in our DNA, so in order to be successful in this role, you will need to become a Trusted Advisor to our customers and to ensure that they are able to achieve their business objectives with the help of AWS cloud technology. Within first 12 months, you will have an opportunity to work with a variety of customers, present at the AWS Summits in Seoul and elsewhere in APAC, conduct internal training, and publish blogs and whitepapers. You will also have an opportunity to influence the direction of our products by providing actionable customer feedback to the service teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position is for someone who already has exceptional technical and customer-facing skills and built deep and broad technical capabilities through their prior work experience. The requirements listed below are expected of a perfect candidate who can hit the ground running on Day 1. You are not required to meet all of them, but we would like you to meet most of them. After joining us, you will be provided with a 2-month ramp-up plan. During this time, you will have an opportunity to bridge any gaps between your current capabilities and our expectations.
· We expect you to independently and proactively identify what needs to be done, develop execution plans, and deliver on them. We expect you to develop multi-project programs that can achieve long-term outcomes in a scalable and sustainable way.
· We expect you to tackle some of the most ambiguous customer requirements, skillfully navigating complex organizational landscape, and incorporating stated as well as non-stated requirements, such as industry and market trends and company's strategic objectives. We then expect you to skillfully integrate all of these objectives and come up with a recommendation that best fits all of these requirements. You will then need to present your solution to the customers ranging from deep technologists to high-level technical and business executives, helping them understand how your proposed solution helps them achieve all of their objectives, as well as various tradeoffs that may be required.
· We expect you to identify problems that are not evident, clearly articulate and scope them, get buy-in from all relevant stakeholders, and then drive the creation and delivery of the best possible solution, collaborating with others as necessary
· We expect you to be able to deeply understand customer's entire technology landscape and help them envision and realize their entire cloud journey. In doing so, we expect you to deeply understand and take into account variety of best practices, ranging from AWS cloud architecture, to industry, to global technology trends. Using this knowledge, we expect you to guide our customers on how to build and/or migrate their entire IT footprint to AWS cloud, taking into account their strategic business goals and long-term technical objectives, such datacenter footprint and composition, system lifecycle, compliance and regulatory constraints, global expansion plans, as well as security, performance, scalability, availability, operability, and cost.
· We expect you to bring to our organization unique technical capability at the highest levels of depth, be it specialized knowledge in a particular technical or industry domain, or other skill where you will become a go-to person within your larger organization
· When working with our customers, we expect you to be able to influence entire companies or large business units within conglomerates and their technical and business executives by demonstrating exceptional architectural and business acumen
· When working with your colleagues at AWS, we expect you to influence across all functions (Solutions Architecture, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, etc.) within entire AWS APAC. We expect you to influence your fellow Solutions Architects that share your area of expertise globally. And finally, we expect you to influence general managers of the AWS service teams.
· We expect you to independently develop and deliver keynotes at the local industry or smaller AWS conferences (such as DevDay), as well as develop and deliver breakout sessions in other large-group settings, such as AWS Summit and re:Invent conferences or large industry conferences with consistently high CSAT scores
· We expect you to independently develop and deliver breakout sessions at the AWS global internal events with consistently high CSAT scores
· We expect you to independently develop high-impact public artifacts that would be used at multiple high-profile venues (Summit or re:Invent Keynotes) or to develop a number of regular large artifacts such as as whitepapers and AWS Solutions
· We expect you to independently develop new reusable high-impact internal artifacts that would be adopted by AWS teams across APAC

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
