As a Solution Architect within the UK Engineering/Industrial Practice, part of the Business Development organization of Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind-share and broad use of Amazon's utility computing services within strategic customer accounts in the UK Energy and Utilities sector. These sectors are undergoing exciting transformations with IoT, Big Data, and Digital Transformation.

Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, and developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.

The ideal candidate will possess customer facing skills that will allow them to represent Amazon well within a customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact and give guidance with software developers and architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

This position is based in London.

Roles & Responsibilities:
· Serve as a key member of the team responsible for supporting the business.
· Serve as a key member of the customer facing team in helping to ensure customer success in building and migrating applications and services on the AWS platform.
· Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solution architect community.
· Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support
· Moderate travel may be required

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience in the design and implementation of complex IT solutions (including scalable cloud-based solutions)
· Experience in infrastructure, database and networking architecture for highly available, internet-scale applications
· Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with CTOs, enterprise architects, IT management, and developers
· Familiarity with the DevOps philosophy, practices, and tools
· Knowledge of the latest developments in NoSQL databases, Containers and Real time analytics solutions.
· Experience working within the Energy & Utilities sectors is desired with an understanding of the technology trends within these industries.
