The Prime Air team is seeking a Production Engineer with a high proficiency of the following areas:
· Support the floor in assembly and installation, compliance to engineering requirements, discrepancy resolution, and component acceptance testing
· Drive to root cause, and recommend corrective and preventative actions
· Sustain production and fielded vehicle design
· Evaluates and resolves engineering-related production problems encountered during aircraft manufacturing: Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to maintain current knowledge of manufacturing methods, processes, and procedures
· Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations
· Investigates reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine nature and scope of problem
· Assist quality team with supplier capability assessments, troubleshooting investigations, and First Article Inspection support
· Examines, measures, inspects, or tests defective part for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications, using precision measuring and testing instruments, devices, and equipment
· Evaluates findings to formulate corrective action plan and coordinates implementation of plan
· Maintains records or oversees recording of information by others to ensure engineering drawings and documents are current and that engineering-related production problems and resolutions are documented
· Serves as member of material review board to determine disposition of defective or damaged parts

Export Control License

This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master's/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
· Experience working in aerospace manufacturing
· Excellent problem solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
· Strong Mathematical/ Statistical/ Physics fundamentals
· Experience presenting and explaining design, defect data, metrics, supplier quality, improvement initiatives and status to top leadership and/ or government officials
· 5+ years experience in project management of manufacturing engineering design projects; experience managing vendors locally and abroad; driving fast development cycles
· 2+ years experience using data to find root cause, develop solutions and implement process improvement plans
· Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project), PLM Software (ENOVIA)
· Ability to travel 20% globally to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders
