DESCRIPTION

This position can be based virtually out of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York or New Jersey.

The Physical Security Program Manager (PSPM) is a key member of the Americas Physical Security team within the Americas Loss Prevention organization. This organization is tasked with ensuring newly constructed facilities and facility expansion projects, are accomplished in accordance with Amazon security frameworks. From securing Retail and Ultra-Fast Fresh grocery facilities to highly-complex Robotics facilities, the PSPM will partner with a team of experts to validate, coordinate, advise, test, and commission complex intrusion detection, access control, and video surveillance systems per Amazon Information Security and Global Security policies and standards. The PSPM role is defined by ambiguous environments, quickly changing situations, and times where quick judgement and decision making under pressure are required to support complex construction projects. Expectations of the PSPM typically include:
• Leads multiple physical security design and implementation building projects while proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises, and developing contingency plans to mitigate risk.
• Evaluates security engineering drawings to validate security system components are properly integrated in the facility design.
• Ensures projects are completed within the estimated budget, established timeline, and as designed while having the ability to course correct when needed without jeopardizing project completion.
• Actively partners with other Amazon functions to ensure security is integrated into operations. Provides sound, factual advice to Operations and Loss Prevention leadership on security design and implementation processes.
• Solves complex problems through detailed interaction with multiple key stakeholders to ensure Amazon Global Security policy is implemented.
• Performs site testing & commissioning functions to validate integrity of a newly installed security standard and ensure the system was built in accordance with Amazon Global Security standards.
• Recognizes, adopts, utilizes and teaches “best practices” in the Physical Security Program, such as development of security frameworks, information security, security operations, security systems, policy, and response.
• Demonstrates a strong preference for assisting the business with achieving its goals by always navigating a path to “yes.”
• Searches relentlessly for the root cause of enterprise challenges to understand the broader context.
• Maintains understanding of the security threat environment and how it affects the Company.
• Finds flaws in existing Company processes and procedures and work with the appropriate stakeholders to get them remediated.
• Remains very familiar with current Amazon approved security technology equipment and its capabilities in varying applications
• Ability to work unassisted and remotely with little oversight and guidance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• PMP and / or ASIS PSP / CPP certification.
• Experience in Lean / Six Sigma Continuous Process Improvement
• 4+ years of Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) experience.
· Experience in performing physical security assessments of people, processes, and measures, including access control/intrusion detection and CCTV surveillance systems.
• Experience with Lenel and/or Bosch security infrastructure design and operations
• Experience with interpreting technical drawings / architectural plans
• Proven track record of partnering with geographically dispersed team members.
• Ability to communicate through oral and written communications effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
• Experience in presenting and communicating technical information to all stakeholders and high levels of management.
• Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
• Ability to handle confidential information with care.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of experience working with Physical Security Principles and/or Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems.
• 3+ years of experience implementing Physical Security Technology and devices as well as researching new/emerging Physical Security technology.
• Be an industry leading expert, relative to your level, in at least one of the core sub-areas of security as defined by the industry-standard Common Body of Knowledge (CBK):
- Physical Access Control Systems, methodology and applications
· Intrusion detection systems, methodology and applications
· Physical Security hardware, methodology and applications
· Security Management Practices
· Information Security principals and alignment to Physical Security
· Operational Security
• Ability to travel up to 70%
