DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, is seeking a talented, self-directed community marketing manager to evaluate, build, and run marketing programs that expand and empower academic research contributions to the Apache MXNet open source community. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in an exciting, disruptive software business.

The role will be part of a team responsible for creating and running global programs that are designed to build and enhance AWS support for open source communities. This includes using social media and blog posts to promote key open source projects, and coordinating participation at third party events. In this role, the successful candidate will partner with the product marketing, field marketing, start-up marketing, business development teams and AWS solution architects to ensure all programs can operate at scale and enhance local market activities.

The ideal candidate has a passion for open source technology and community building, with a deep understanding of the artificial intelligence academic research community. You will leverage skills in community marketing, project management, marketing communication and technical event management. Candidate must be able to manage multiple programs in parallel, be detail oriented, be personable in community interactions and work effectively with other teams in AWS marketing.

Roles & Responsibilities
· Work closely with product marketing, field marketing and AWS solution architects to programmatically support MXNet user groups and meet-ups. Generate regular reports on community engagement.
· Work jointly with the AWS AI product teams to select manage, curate and grow key open source projects.
· Travel, as necessary, to execute marketing initiatives.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years of relevant experience in academic communities.
· Bachelor's degree in technical, business, marketing, or other relevant field of study.
· Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail.
· Proven success managing time and juggling multiple projects in a high growth environment where priorities shift fast.
· Experience in building and enabling effective open source community engagement programs.
· Ability to present ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives.
