Network Development Engineer- AWS Seattle

This Opportunity:
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Local Zone team is looking for Network Development Engineers who are passionate about deploying and automating one of the world’s largest and most complex networks. Our team is distributed across Seattle and Sydney and we’re looking for engineers to fulfil roles in both locations.
Imagine delighting customers on a daily basis by providing our customers the highest quality and reliability for their services. As a Network Development Engineer (NDE) you will be responsible for building, deploying and scaling the Amazon networks that support AWS, customers, and other business units, across multiple global datacenters.
· As an NDE at AWS you will be responsible for maintaining quality and reliability while developing innovative ways to scale our network.
· Create simple yet powerful deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality.
· Work collaboratively with our internal customers to build trust and develop network solutions; bringing those solutions from concept to production.
· Create and deliver automation improvements which will be effective in allowing us to scale at volume.
· You will be supported and empowered to learn about the latest network standards and keep abreast of where it is moving.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills; specifically, network performance analysis
· Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, and work toward resolution
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree based on 3 years professional experience for every 1 year of education
· 3+ years professional experience working in large scale networking environments.
· Experience with internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, ISIS and/or OSPF
· Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
· Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
· Experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.
