DESCRIPTION

The IMDb Content team are the 'Db' in IMDb. Our content powers IMDb's Consumer, Professional and Mobile businesses; the X-Ray experience for movies and TV shows; and entertainment-related knowledge for Alexa, the Amazon cloud service that in turn powers voice-controlled devices like Echo and FireTV. We are looking for a dedicated Technical Content/Data Editor to join the team responsible for ensuring that this content is complete and correct, as we branch out to offer experiences in many languages from all around the world.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, you will serve as the Spanish-language and culture expert in the team. The role requires professional and efficient handling of large volumes of data in cooperation with other locale-specific Editors and internal teams, such as software development, product management, automation and operations.

As standard for a role within our team of experts, knowledge and passion for entertainment (film/TV/video games etc.) is a must. Please be aware that entertainment never sleeps so the team operate 7 days a week across multiple timezones. The successful candidate will join either a Sunday to Thursday on Tuesday to Saturday working week.

The team's focus is split programmatically and operationally. For this role, programmatic expectations include the following:
· Identify and fill gaps for language-specific content coverage, constantly identifying new content opportunities.
· Closely monitor and drive country-specific KPIs and define actions to reach locale-specific goals.
· Translate or write from scratch language-specific content.
· Partner with software developers, product managers, other knowledge/content-related teams, and business leaders to identify opportunities to enhance language-specific data quality and selection.
· Proactively find language-specific contributors (both entertainment fans and industry professionals) to build and manage relationships with and solicit feedback from.
· Innovate on large, complex content workflows, leveraging both technology and manual process improvement to scale with growth and quality.
Operational expectations include:
· Vet data submissions generously contributed by people from all over the world.
· Handle content-related customer service contacts to keep us close to our customers and feed the flywheel of continuous improvement.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bilingual in English and Spanish.
· Strong understanding of Spanish culture and entertainment consumption habits and trends, ideally garnered from living in Spain.
· Bachelor's degree.
· Experience working on simultaneous projects with cross-functional teams.
· Superlative attention to detail.
· Experience in applying analytical, logical or conceptual approaches to problem solving.
· Passion for the entertainment industry and ability to maintain an expert-level status by staying up-to-date on current entertainment news and industry trends (movies, TV, games, etc.).
· Willingness to work with sensitive and potentially-offensive visual and written content including but not limited to the following themes: adult/sex/nudity; profanity; religion; alcohol; tobacco; weapons; blood and gore.
· Availability and willingness to work weekends.
