DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a French speaking Data Linguist to join our Amazon Alexa data team. We are building language solutions that power Amazon Alexa products.

The Language Data Associate must be capable of:
· Building a thorough understanding of data labeling conventions and provide support to global sites
· Localizing established guidelines from English French
· Identifying and eliminating bugs
· Delivering high quality data output under aggressive deadlines
· Working autonomously with minimal direction
· Handling unique data analysis requests from a range of data customers
· Contributing to process improvements to reduce handling time and improve data output
· Diving deep into issues and implement solutions independently
· Providing quality expertise to other team members and coaching improvements

In addition, the French Language Data Associate will need to quickly understand changes in response to customers’ requests and change workflows accordingly. The Data Associate must have a passion for data, efficiency, and accuracy as well as:

· Show proactive efforts in addressing issues and problems
· Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and very detail-oriented
· Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
· Willingness to support several projects at one time, and to accept re-prioritization as necessary
· Ability to keep up with changing project conventions and priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· BA/BS degree in Linguistics/Computational Linguistics, or equivalent practical experience in data mark-up
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
· Independent, proactive, and self-motivated with record in timely delivery of requests
· Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and learn in-house user-interface tool
· Experience with command line tools

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BA or BS degree
· Native level fluency in French, both written and verbal
· Business level fluency in English
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel
· Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
· Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and a solution-oriented attitude
