DESCRIPTION

Applied Modeling and Data Science (AMDS) delivers data representations, data collections and generation, model iterations, rules, issue fixes, and associated analytics for Alexa Machine Learning and our customers. Our Mission is to continuously improve the customer experience from a data-driven understanding of the customer interactions and informed selection and creation of data and data structures in the form of representations, ontologies, models, rules, and associated artifacts. We cover domain, language and device expansion and maintain parity as possible. We will increase understanding both internally and for our partners through reporting and analyses.

We complete and accelerate the cycle of feature and language expansion, iterate on that expansion toward launch readiness, and continue to improve the customer experience based on analytics and updates from our data sources.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the roadmap to expand features for existing products and generate new products that produce data to power Alexa spoken language understanding systems. As part of this, you will be the product owner for the Amazon voice data crowdsourcing skill, Cleo. You will drive the feature roadmap to evolve and gamify the user experience. You will drive engagement programs and feedback mechanisms to delight our users.

You will also lead a team that generates new streams of data to not only serve machine learning use cases across Alexa, but also to inspire new use cases that solve complex business problems. You will lead a multi-functional team of managers, product managers, engineers, and data scientists to accomplish these goals.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Leading a multi-functional team to invent and deliver results
· Use case prioritization, feature definition, ownership of the product roadmap, and customer segmentation
· Work with the leadership team to set strategy, define the product, and make appropriate high-judgment trade-offs between features and speed-to-market.
· Lead initiatives and work closely with teams across the organization, including science teams, engineering teams, product owners and more.
· Collaborate with partner teams to define deliverables, roadmaps, and accompanying documentation for ad-hoc projects and programs.
· Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 10+ years of product management experience involving cross-domain, cross-team engagements.
· Experience documenting a vision, working backwards, generating support and buy-in from stakeholders, and launching to market
· Bachelors in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science or a related engineering field
· 3+ years of Technical expertise in Linguistics, Data science, and Machine Learning
