IT Apprentices work with cutting-edge technology to keep our business running smoothly by resolving complex hardware, software, server and infrastructure issues, for our operations network.

As an IT Apprentice you will work in a one of our fulfilment centres across 8 locations: Coalville, Coventry, Peterborough, Tilbury, Doncaster, Milton Keynes, Hemel Hempstead and Warrington, where you will learn about the general fulfilment centre business and the interconnecting system layers which are crucial to its ongoing success, both today and tomorrow.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Join us as an IT Apprentice and you'll build your skills over a 36 month period, including both classroom based training hosted offsite and complimented with Amazon's on-the-job IT staff training program, delivered by our specialist teams on site in our Fulfilment Centers. Our IT Engineers at site also provide mentoring support for our apprentices.

You will be working with systems and technology focused on delivering the highest service and delighting our end customer.
Alongside extensive development of your technical skills, you will also grow your abilities in crucial complementary areas like organization, scheduling, communication and presentation skills.

During your first year you will be introduced to the fundamental technical skills you need to become a successful Amazon IT employee by attending week-long offsite workshop modules covering Networking and Architecture, Mobile Operating Systems, Cloud Services, Business Process and Coding and Logic.

During your second year you will continue to expand on your knowledge, diving deeper into the overall skillsets our Technicians and Engineers need to be industry leaders.

Modules this year will include, Network Principle and Systems, Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 and Technical Security and Threats and Vulnerabilities.

WHERE WILL IT TAKE YOU

Not only will you receive invaluable learning, development and professional experience, you will also gain a number of qualifications:
· Infrastructure Technician Level 3
· MTA Networking/ Mobility and Devices/Cloud Fundamentals
· Network Engineer L4 (equivalent to first year of degree study)
· Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) – Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 R2

Plus, after graduating the IT Apprentice programme, you'll be fully qualified to apply to join our IT team permanently in any of a number of different roles as you embark on a challenging and exciting career.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Anyone can join as an IT Apprentice as long as you are over 18 (with the right to work in the UK) and 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) C or above including English and Maths. Ideally you would have attained ‘A' levels.
We are unable to employ under-18s in our Fulfilment Centres due to the nature of some of the inventory.

· You are able to read, understand and communicate in English with the ability to interact and engage comfortably with people at all levels of the business
· You will have a hands-on attitude, flexible and adaptable and willing to provide additional discretionary effort when the team is in need
· You are able to operate in a challenging and fast paced environment.
· To able to demonstrate drive, ambition and a passion for ensuring that customers receive a first-class Amazon experience.
· The ability to adhere to strict safety, quality and production standards
Have a good understanding of computers (both hardware and software) and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology.
Must possess technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people.
Exhibit strong analytical skills with problem solving ability.
