DESCRIPTION
Overview:
As an HR Associate Partner (HRAP) you will be progressive, hands-on and customer-obsessed with the credibility and gravitas to succeed in a fast moving and customer-focused commercial environment.
You will enjoy a varied role and a wide range of interactions on a daily basis. You will gain exposure to many different aspects of the business and may have the opportunity to work on site based projects. At all times you will focus on delivering the highest quality service to our internal and external customers.
Reporting to an HR Advisor, you will play a critical role in delivering the HR plan at our MMME1 Fulfilment Centre. You will work closely with the HR and operations team across the site to ensure a great experience for our associates and managers at every stage of their employment with Amazon.
General Scope of Role:
The HRAP is the first point of contact for on-site HR services within our Fulfillment Centers, working closely with HR Shared Services to ensure a seamless employee experience and maximize transaction efficiency, providing 24/7 cover. This key HR role supports the operation of the FC by contributing to the delivery of the HR plan, ensuring all employee lifecycle transactions are accurate and timely as well as helping us to build engagement across site.
As an HRAP you are able to understand directions given, and will ask questions to enable clarity of purpose. You understand the role that you play within the immediate team structure as well as the objectives and deliverables of the role. You are able to operate in a challenging and fast paced environment, placing engagement with associates as your primary focus within the FC, ensuring associates are supported through effective query handling and problem solving, followed closely by a high level of process understanding and administrative support.

Core Responsibilities:
Company Culture Steward
As an HRAP you will uphold Amazon’s leadership principles when interacting with team members, associates and managers and are able to identify behaviours which do not align with leadership principles and give feedback accordingly. You understand and promote employee benefits programs; participate in the onboarding orientation events for associates and support managers Day One onboarding too.
Organisation Development and Planning
As an HRAP you will attend business briefings, keep up to date with Company news and performance, and proactively keep up to date with Employment Law trends and changes to understand the wider context of operating within an HR team and the impact of role delivery. You will understand core business objectives, and the roles and responsibilities of the members of your local team.
Organisational Health
As an HRAP you will proactively seek associate views on issues at work; listen and understand Associate queries at Ask HR and through HR Gemba, the Employee Voice Tool, and the VOA Board. You will conduct Champion of the Associate Questionnaires are able to collate feedback and resolve individual issues related to key process standards and escalate where appropriate. You are able to apply policy in everyday interactions and relate policy information accurately to associates and seek help/escalate where a situation is outside of policy. In addition, you will manage the administration of other feedback processes i.e. Connections, liaising with team colleagues as appropriate. You remain the key HR contact within the FC environment and are able to provide early key feedback on trends and issues outside of formal processes where appropriate.
Workforce Planning and Recruitment
As an HRAP you will coordinate and own hiring events on site, managing all related logistics, escalating timetable conflicts and resource shortfalls where appropriate. You will also support site specific onboarding process and new employee orientation ensuring a strong focus on engagement and where necessary early problem solving for new hires regarding their early experiences of Amazon.
Talent Management & Development
As an HRAP you will help train new team members in processes and help coach associates in process/system/policy information. You will also be your site Manager Buddy on the FC floor for all key people related processes, actively training and maintaining good practice from early manager onboarding through to experienced Amazon managers. You are a key part of the manager onboarding process with the smooth running of site processes and actions related to people as an indicator of your focus and commitment to good learning for managers.
HR Operations
As an HRAP you are the primary owner and facilitator of the site ticket management process and are able to run all related metrics including absence and attrition data that will indicate FC and HR effectiveness. You will collect data, pull reports from HR tools, key in and maintain data in the system and will be able to raise the Andon if there is an error in expected output. You will understand the purpose and rules of the benefit programs and are able to seek support if unclear on interpretation and are able to articulate key features to associates, serving as a point of contact to answer questions from employees on life cycle events and issues that arise from the associate experience – and where possible promote and encourage self-service behavior for associates. As an HRAP you will own the scheduling and associated logistics for core processes on site including but not limited to Occupational Health medical appointments, Drug & Alcohol testing, and PIT Medical appointments and will be responsible for perfect attendance at each. You will be actively involved in "standard" case management activities, taking notes and generating standard associated administration and communications for such cases, ensuring good meeting conduct, support and advice for managers aligned to policy guidance only escalating when required. You will also participate in wider non-standard or more complex cases as the note taker.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Ideally CIPD qualified / part-qualified;
· Fluency in English required (both verbal and written communications, including narrative writing skills)
· Good IT literacy (excel, computerized HR systems e.g. PeopleSoft);
· Knowledge of employment law and HR / Payroll practices would be advantageous.

· You are able to operate in a challenging and fast paced environment.
