Overview:
As an HR Advisor you will be progressive, hands-on and customer-obsessed with the credibility and gravitas to succeed in a fast moving and customer-focused commercial environment. You will enjoy a varied role and a wide range of interactions on a daily basis. You will gain exposure to many different aspects of the business and may have the opportunity to work on site based and national projects. Whatever you will focus on, it will all be aimed at delivering the highest quality service to our internal and external customers.

Reporting to the HR Delivery Manager (HRDM), you will play a critical role in delivering the HR plan at our BHX1 Fulfilment Centre. You will work closely with the operations team supporting a client group of approximately 5 Operations Managers and 14 Area (shift) Managers across the site to help ensure a great experience for our associates and manager at every stage of their employment with Amazon.

General Scope of Role:
The HR Advisor supports the operation of the FC by contributing to the delivery of day to day HR deliverables, delivering the basics brilliantly, playing a pivotal role in coaching, facilitating and supporting effective and seamless performance, attendance and conflict resolution for the site and working closely with the site HR team and operations management,.

As an HR Advisor your primary role is to upskill and coach managers so that they can deliver a great associate experience, independently, take a hands-on approach and interface effectively with employees and business leaders at all levels. The ability to deliver quality results against challenging deadlines is paramount as is possessing excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills and the agility to function in an innovative fast moving environment. You will play a lead role in the effective management of performance and carry a general employee relations caseload and will gain exposure to many different aspects of our business and will have the opportunity to work on site based and UK network projects. Whatever you will focus on, it will all be aimed at delivering the highest quality service to our internal and external customers.

Organisational Development and Planning
As an HR Advisor you understand key business goals and priorities and are able to apply these to core areas of HR responsibilities in order to prioritize your work and set goals.

Organisational Health
As an HR Advisor you will provide hands on coaching and training for Area Managers to ensure they are proficient in all aspects of leading and managing a large team of associates. You will actively take on overall stewardship for case management activities at the site including; grievances, disciplinaries, absence inclusive of long term sickness absence, capability and restricted duties. You will specifically support and coordinate investigations for ER issues, covering a range of matters including those of a lower level risk to high risk/greater complexity in consultation with management – ensuring adequate resource and competence to manage each matter to a thorough and timely conclusion. As part of your role, you will conduct audits for compliance on ER related processes, applying your knowledge of local employment law and legislation to ensure the robust and effective delivery and execution of people policies, investigations and associate document management. You will also contribute to the planning and relationship management of the onsite Associate Forum, ensuring the Forum are up to date in their learning and knowledge to ensure they remain effective in their roles. You will track ER related metrics and conduct diagnostics to identify trends and environmental ER or workplace issues, communicating findings to HRBPs and site leadership, implementing components of your findings as part your strategy and action plan that addresses identified issues i.e. ER related learning initiatives, case management resource planning.
Workforce Planning and Recruitment
As an HR Advisor you will partner with recruitment in order to coach AMs around the hiring process as well as understanding department recruiting strategies and goals providing data and insights to support sourcing strategies (i.e. insufficiencies or gaps in AM talent capability). You may participate in site and UK network interview panels following completion of MGHD training and participate in peer level interviews. You will also engage with HRBPs and managers to ensure AM launch plans are created and will actively participate in launch plans as needed.

Talent Management & Development
As an HR Advisor you will prepare managers for OLR, providing training/guidance on tools and may co-facilitate a department or client group OLR. You will also provide guidance and support to AMs on performance related matters in more general terms, ensuring that performance issues are documented accurately within associated tools and progress is reported. You will actively identify participants for learning programs and manage internal communications related to training and development as well as providing routine training on various talent management and ER topics. In addition, you will share information with the HRBP(s) and act as a central resource for AM's in all talent processes.

HR Operations
As an HR Advisor you are able to understand and collect data and pull reports from various HR tools ensuring data integrity through regular audits, while seeking out and driving process improvements within direct area of work. You apply and assimilate the fundamentals of employment law with your deep understanding of ER policies and procedures, identify both gaps in policy and process (making recommendations accordingly) as well as employee and leader knowledge. You serve as a point of contact for managers on employee life cycle issues, with particular focus on attendance and well-being matters. Wherever possible you take the time to support and encourage the behavior of self service for managers. You are responsible for the roll out of new policy changes/services and ensure business adoption and understanding of changes recommending exceptions to policies with input from Sr. Leaders or HR Management as required. You actively use data to proactively drive decision making and action; knowing when to seek additional input to dive deeper into an issue or area. You will also share best practice within the HR Advisor Team ensuring compliance with Amazon HR practice which may include collating and updating HR data, e.g. weekly and daily metrics information, HR reporting and absence narrative.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
· Education to degree level or equivalent;
· Ideally CIPD qualified / part-qualified
· Several years of experiences as an HR and or ER Generalist or equivalent in a global and multi-national company with demonstrated success in meeting exceptionally high standards in a high volume, fast-paced, hands-on, technical environment
· Fluent English required (both verbal and written communications, including narrative writing skills)
· Good IT literacy (excel, computerised HR systems e.g. PeopleSoft)
· Knowledge of employment law and HR / Payroll practices would be advantageous
