DESCRIPTION

As a Front End Engineer on the Robotics Operations Management team you will be a leader in a growing, diverse team developing a new and innovative visualization platform enabling applications across the robotic development lifecycle, from solution ideation to end-customer support. You will work closely with other engineering teams to define clear requirements and deliverables, and advocate for the customer while rapidly designing, developing, and testing new solutions with a positive user experience. You will evaluate and prototype emerging technologies and gain expertise as necessary to meet the growing scope of Amazon's automated fulfillment solution while consistently driving clean, extensible architecture to enable a greater future.

The ideal candidate is passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new and foundational products and features. A commitment to teamwork and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance software products requires technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of computer science and software engineering, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems. This person has delivered high-quality technology products/services in a high-growth environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications
· Proficient in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns. Knows when (and when not) to use front-end software design patterns (e.g., asynchronicity, data binding, modules, MVC, objects, promises)
· Proficient in view layout and rendering technologies (e.g., responsiveness, progressive enhancement, browser/device support).
· Experience developing and deploying solutions to an AWS environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
· 3+ years of professional front end development around the user experience, an eye for design and attention to detail, and experience with responsive web design.
· Have the ability to work with a design team and translate wireframes and prototypes into a scalable front end architecture.
· Have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Understand how to optimize the delivery of code and assets (e.g., images, fonts) to a browser or device (e.g., lazy loading assets, using CDNs, caching, compression, etc.).
· Have solid coding practices including peer code reviews, unit testing, and a preference for agile development.
· Have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
· Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through launch of the project.
· Experience in developing rich applications with HTML, CSS, JS
· Experience in developing front-end software, with deep experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Thyme Leaf, JQuery etc.), UI Test Automation frameworks, and MVC frameworks.
· Experience instrumenting software with user metrics to reflect the customer experience.
