Job description

DESCRIPTION

Have you ever thought about what it takes to detect and prevent fraudulent purchases among hundreds of millions of e-Commerce transactions in different countries? What would you do to create a trusted marketplace where millions of buyers and sellers can safely transact online? What kinds of products and systems would you build to maximize customer satisfaction? Amazon is seeking a Product Manager of Buyer Fraud who is passionate about providing exceptional service, thinks globally, and has the ability to contribute innovative ideas.

Amazon's Transaction Risk Management Systems (TRMS) team is constantly innovating new ways of building massively scalable distributed systems and delivering the next generation of fraud prevention solutions for our Customers. We hold high standards for our computer systems and the services we deliver: our systems are highly secure, highly reliable, highly available, all while functioning at massive scale; our employees are smart, passionate about protecting Customers, and fun to work with.

Our mission in Transaction Risk Management Services (TRMS) is to make Amazon.com the safest place to transact online. TRMS safeguards every financial transaction across all Amazon sites, while striving to ensure that these efforts are transparent to our legitimate customers. As such, TRMS designs and builds the software systems, risk models and operational processes that minimize risk and maximize trust in Amazon.com. We are looking for experienced product and program management professionals.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing products and services that protect and better the experience for our Customers. You must possess a strategic understanding of business objectives and be creative enough to help define what we build. You will lead the vision of your products, manage the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution, and deliver solutions that will reduce business and fraud risks. You will develop product requirements and work closely with software engineers and machine learning scientists to drive implementation. You will establish product goals and review success metrics to achieve commercial success.
We need owners who can scale in perspective from strategic vision development to tactical product development and deliver results. We value product managers who want to sit with developers and scientists to dig into the details as owners where we define, develop, and launch new services and features in periods measured in months.

As a Senior Program Manager in TRMS, you will be responsible for creating and managing roadmaps for building new solutions to prevent fraud in various payment products offered by Amazon. You will be working closely with businesses, understanding the requirements, working actively with Technology, Machine Learning and Operations teams, making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, and clearly communicating goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional teams. You will interact with a broad cross section of the Amazon organization as you clarify ambiguous issues and negotiate effective solutions between development and business teams. You will anticipate bottlenecks and escalate issues when required in order to ensure on-time delivery.

You will be responsible for analyzing and identifying specific instances of risk, broader risk trends and points of customer friction, developing scalable solutions for fraud prevention. You will need to collaborate effectively with business teams and cross-functional teams within TRMS to solve problems, create operational efficiencies, and successfully deliver against high organizational standards. You should be able to apply a breadth of tools, data sources, and analytical techniques to answer a wide range of high-impact business questions and proactively present new insights in concise and effective manner. In addition you will be responsible for building a robust set of operational and business metrics and will utilize metrics to determine improvement opportunities.

You should be an effective communicator capable of independently driving issues to resolution and communicating insights to non-technical and technical audiences. This is a high impact role with goals that directly impacts the bottom line of the business.

Amazon is an Equal Opportunity Employer – Minority / Women / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation / Age.
