As a member of the AWS Premium Support Team, you will be at the forefront of Cloud technology, assisting a global list of companies that are taking advantage of a growing set of services and features to run their mission-critical applications.
Amazon has a fast-paced environment where we “Work Hard, Have Fun, Make History.” As a premium cloud support engineer you would typically be involved in the following activities on a day to day basis:
Empowering AWS customers who use AWS deployment management services such as (but not limited to):
· ECS (Orchestrating Docker Containers),
· EKS (Kubernetes)
· CloudFormation,
· Elastic Beanstalk,
· CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, CodeCommit (Implementing CI/CD pipelines on AWS),
· OpsWorks (Automate operations with Chef)
Act as customer’s advocate and have a strong voice into the product development teams. This includes:
· Raising feature requests on behalf of the customers’ use cases
· Ensuring timely communication and drive technical issues towards closure
· Raising bug reports
· Not just fixing issues, but also helping customers architect and optimize their AWS infrastructure
Apart from working on a broad spectrum of technical issues, an AWS Premium Support engineer may also coach/mentor new hires, develop and deliver trainings, partner with development teams on complex issues or contact deflection initiatives, participate in recruiting, write tools/script to help the team, or work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives.
As we operate on follow-the-sun model, with support sites in 7 locations globally, there is no after hours on-call or mandated overtime in this role.
A suitable candidate would be someone who is extremely customer focused, who could multi-task and utilize both written & verbal communication skills to help our diverse range of customers resolve their technical issues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of experience in administration and troubleshooting for two (2) or more of the following:
o DevOps/Deployment
o Orchestration Management
o Configuration Management
o Continuous Integration technology (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, or related tools)
· 7+ year of experience in both of the following:
o System Administration with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server and associated technologies (Active Directory, Exchange)
o Networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, or LAN/WAN)
· One or more Web and Application Server technologies (e.g. Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Glassfish, JBoss, Puma, Passenger, IIS)
· One or more scripting language (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, ebextensions)
· One or more version control platform (e.g. Git, Perforce, SVN, TFVC)
· Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
· Programming language experience (e.g. Java, node.js, Javascript, .NET, PHP)
· Exposure to Virtualization (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen)
· Understand the complete deployment lifecycle from design, build, test, deploy
· Support / Troubleshooting experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field OR 4 years equivalent professional or military experience
6+ months of Industry experience
Experience with one or more of the following areas:
· Analytics (Linux, Networking, MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle, Database Performance Tuning, ETL, Kinesis/ElasticSearch/Cloudsearch/Redshift)

· Databases (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, performance tuning, HA databases, database scaling)
· Deployment/DevOps (Orchestration/Configuration Management and Continuous Integration technology; Git/Perforc/SVN/TFVC; Chef/Puppet/Docker/Jenkins/Ansible; Apache Tomcat,/Nginx/Glassfish/JBoss/Puma/IIS; Bash/PowerShell/Ruby/Python/ebextensions)
· Developer & Mobile Services (Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, .NET, JavaScript, iOS/Objective-C/Swift, Rest API, inter-application messaging & queueing, develop mobile apps, version control systems, virtualization)
· Linux Systems Administration (Linux/Unix (Ubuntu/CentOS/RedHat/Solaris; Networking; IPsec, VPN, Load Balancing, Iperf, MTR, Routing Protocols, SSH, Network Monitoring)
· Networking (DNS; IPsec; BGP; Load Balancing; Configuring & troubleshooting software-based (IPsec & SSL) VPN solutions; experience with devices -Cisco/Juniper/SonicWall/ Fortinet,/Checkpoint,/Palo Alto/Yamaha)
· Security (information security (application security, cryptography, threat modeling, penetration testing); web security and compliance (Firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, DOS prevention, PCI, HIPAA, FIPS, etc.)
· Storage & Content Delivery (Content Delivery Networks; Streaming video/H264/MP4/WEBM/Smooth Streaming; Search Engines/Solr/Lucene; Storage protocols/iSCSI/NFS/CIFS/SMB; client/server & distributed systems architecture)
· Windows Systems Administration (Windows Server versions 2003-2012R2; Networking/DNS/TCP/IP)
