DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a looking for a smart and innovative Business Intelligence Engineer that has a solid foundation in SQL and data warehousing technical components (e.g. ETL, Reporting, Data Modeling). If you want to work on high impact projects that drive billions in revenue and at same time help keep Amazon safe from sellers with bad intentions, this is the job for you. Our customers include sellers from 160+ countries across the globe, as well as the millions of shoppers on Amazon worldwide.

This BI Engineer will drive the analysis, initiatives, and innovation that will improve the shopping experience for Shoppers purchasing products in the Marketplace. They will dig deep into the metrics to identify areas for opportunity, build reporting tools to quickly analyze trends and identify red flags, and work cross-functionally with teams that impact both shoppers and sellers.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of businesses join the marketplace selling millions of new products. As this pace accelerates, the BIE will help identify segments within the new Seller population, e.g. those with good and bad intentions, high or low revenue potential etc.. The BA will be expected to develop expertise around seller performance and related metrics, understand and dive into various initiatives, and innovate new ways to gain insights about our Sellers.

Key responsibilities include:
· Own the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions on revenue and seller performance.
· Pull and synthesize data and conduct business analyses that drive strategic decisions and process improvements
· Develop quantitative models, forecasts, and simulations to evaluate various trade-offs associated with screening new sellers and impact on revenue
· Support projects by identifying business requirements and coordinating with technical program management teams
· Help identify and drive improvements in automation/metrics
· Serve as the SME to the full suite of Amazon's data tools and resources

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field
· Strong experience with reporting tools like Tableau or other reporting packages
· Experience using very large datasets
· Strong ability in ETL development and writing and tuning SQL scripts
· Expert ability in Excel e.g. macros, data analysis tools.
· Genuine curiosity, proven problem solving ability, and passion for data.
· Solid communication skills and team player
· Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize workload
