DESCRIPTION

Amazon's FP&A Corporate Performance Management Systems team has an immediate opening for an Application Engineer. This team is responsible for assisting in the administration, delivery and support of the company's enterprise-wide financial planning & analytics environment based on the IBM Cognos TM1 and BI platform.

This role is an ideal position for someone eager to innovate within a large enterprise analytics platform while working directly with a global finance community in an exciting, fast-paced, team-based environment.

Responsibilities include:
- Work with business groups to transform requirements into actionable, standardized reports and processes.
- Assist users with recurring reporting change requests and performance tuning of existing reports.
- Manage ongoing user support according to priority (including rotational on-call availability for critical systems support), and coordinate change requests with development teams.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and delivery of formalized training programs, including documentation, in-person courses, virtual training, and video-based instructions.
- Collaborate with 3rd party software vendors on issue resolution and product enhancement requirements.
- Participate in the design and development of reporting structures, including OLAP cube build & maintenance and advanced report authoring using Cognos BI tools.
- Manage various user communication activities, including status dashboards, newsletters, and usage surveys.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance or related business/technical field required
- 2+ years' experience in business intelligence (BI) software, ideally with exposure to Cognos 10.x/11 BI (Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Workspace Advanced, Framework Manager)- Knowledge of Data Warehouse, BI, OLAP, and dimensional modeling concepts
- Experience with design & delivery of formal training curriculum and programs.
- Demonstrated experience working with users in a support capacity, including trouble ticket resolution and ability to serve as member of on-call rotation for critical off-hour support requests.
- Quick learner with a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as the candidate will work closely with a diverse group of teams, including collaboration with business users and development teams.
