Job description

DESCRIPTION

Our team, the AWS Security Operations Center (AWS SOC), is looking for a self-motivated Support Engineer with security technology experience, problem-solving abilities, deep analysis skills, and strong customer obsession. Come join the team tasked with maintaining security on a global scale, spread across new and existing AWS infrastructure.

The Support Engineer will work with security leaders and design professionals to methodically adhere to strict standards while managing new and existing security technologies. This person will manage communications, generate and/or manage trouble tickets, provide technical support, and interact with security systems, ensuring accurate and effective system maintenance and utilization of deployed technologies. Support Engineers update run-books, identify and resolve security and technology issues, and collaborate with system designers and installers to program and configure our security system.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record of customer service, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate good judgment while under pressure. They are able to successfully multitask, operate effectively, and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information. They rapidly learn new technologies, consider multiple solutions to problems, and show high levels of judgement when determining risk and impact from various hardware and system failures, prioritizing and communicating effectively in high severity events. An ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of security operations as context for decision making when taking ownership to solve problems.

Our team is a 24/7/365 operation and shift work may be required to include nights and/or weekends, including occasional on-call support.
