Associate Big Data Specialist
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we're hiring Associate Big Data Specialists to help our customers develop technical expertise and deliver results in key engagements, often alongside our partners. Our technical specialists will help customers experiment with proofs of concept, provide guidance on AWS best practices, and help customers and partners succeed in their implementation projects.
These professional services engagements will focus on key customer solutions such as web applications, enterprise applications, HPC, IoT, batch processing, big data, archiving, and disaster recovery. AWS Professional Services engages in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base. We are obsessed about strong success for the customer.
The Remote Consulting Services (RCS) team provides direct to customer, back office and packaged delivery consulting services to customers remotely from a centralized location. Our consultants are builders and deliver projects, technical workshops, and lead implementation projects with customers around the globe. These professional services engagements focus on customer solutions such as, web applications, enterprise applications, high performance computing, batch processing, big data, archiving, disaster recovery, migration, security risk and compliance.
This position is not a virtual location, it is located in Dallas, TX office.
Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered, and to drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

The Associate Big Data Specialist is a one-year program. At the end of the program you will choose a track suited to your strengths and preference. These tracks include:
Data Lake & Analytics Specialist – This role will specifically focus on Data processing capabilities and helping our customers and partners to remove the constraints that prevent our customers from leveraging their data to develop business insights. Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services.
Data Warehouse & MPP Specialist – This role will specifically focus on large scale data warehousing and database migration capabilities. Engagements will include Redshift implementations and helping customers to migrate from their existing on-premises data warehouses using other databases to Amazon Redshift.
Data Engineer – In this role, you will work with our partners, customers and focus on our AWS Analytics service offering such Amazon Kinesis, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, Athena, AWS ML, and more…
NoSQL - This role will specifically focus on helping our customers and partners in specialization of AWS NoSQL Products (DynamoDB, Elasticsearch Service, Neptune, ElasticCache and more).
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science,
· Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
· 1+ years of experience of IT platform implementation in a highly
· technical and analytical role.
· 1+ years' experience of Data platform implementation, including 1+
· years of hands-on experience in implementation and performance tuning
· Kinesis/Kafka/Spark/Storm implementations.
· Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical
· challenges in an enterprise environment.
· Experience with analytic solutions applied to the Marketing or Risk needs of enterprises
· Highly technical and analytical, possessing 5 or more years of IT platformimplementation experience.
· Understanding of Data Analytics ecosystem. Experience with one or more relevant tools ( Flink, Spark, Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Amazon Kinesis ).
· Experience developing software code in one or more programming
· languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc).
· Current hands-on implementation experience required
· Ability to travel to client locations when needed (25%)
