The ideal candidate has experience working in AutoCAD and Revit to develop architectural projects. Candidate must show progressing leadership on design projects.

Amazon has a global presence therefore domestic and international travel may be necessary. Team work is absolutely necessary for us to accomplish our goals. You must be able to work within a team and depend on others to accomplish the required work. This includes working with internal groups as well as external consultants. Designer will be able to develop their own working drawings, contribute to design meetings, document projects and meetings. Review drawings and documents for conformance to Amazon prototypes and design philosophy. Amazon can support career growth toward licensure.

Daily responsibilities will include working on all aspects of the entire Data Center life cycle starting with design, construction, and maintenance of Data Center Revit models for the Americas Region. Our goal is to establish and maintain level 3 full life cycle BIM processes for AWS data centers for use by a wide variety of internal customers. Your duties will include:
• Execute drawings and create BIM models and maintain CAD and Revit standards, processes, and workflows.
• Assist in creating and maintaining standard regional and global templates and family libraries
• Work in the common data environment, along with processes, procedures, and security around the Amazon design team’s information exchanges
• Create document packages for internal review, AHJ review, construction bidding, and update files with as-built documents.
• Find creative solutions to automate processes, standardize designs, document projects.
• Review consultant BIM documentation, BIM files, coordinate output formats, and validate data quality, collect design documents and files for projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• NAAB accredited Bachelor of Architecture
• Or Bachelor’s Degree in civil, structural, mechanical or electrical engineering
• Familiarity with AIA and NBIMS standards and best practices for BIM collaboration
• 3+ Years’ experience of working with multidiscipline teams in an architectural coordination role – shows strong ownership of projects.
• 3+ Years’ experience of checking documents, specifications, and submittals. Ability to carry drawing standards through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production.
• Capable of working with minimal oversight, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and maintains high working standards. Flexible to design changes, able to adapt to fast-paced drawing execution requirements, able to define problems and dive deep on ambiguous design requests
• Proficient coordinating architecture with mission critical systems.
• Master’s Degree in Architecture, Civil, Structural, mechanical or electrical Engineering
• Experience directly related to Data Center design and construction
• Experience and knowledge applying Lean principals to design modeling and drawing production
• Experience with fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects
• Proficient at analyzing building codes and safety regulations. Familiar with UL assemblies, NFPA, IBC, IFC codes. Familiar with building permit submission procedures.
• Experience observing construction, familiar with construction technology, familiar with construction practices.
• Experience driving team to implement new BIM tools, procedures, best practices
• NCARB Intern Development Program record established, plan to begin licensure in 3 years.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of cumulative experience in Industrial or Commercial Architectural model and drawing production of critical facilities
• 5+ Years’ experience using Revit for producing Architectural or engineering models and drawings
5+ Years’ experience using AutoCAD to produce architecture or engineering drawings
