We're looking for an outstanding Aircraft Performance Engineer with experience in flight mechanics, stability analysis and aircraft performance analysis. This person should be comfortable collaborating with engineers and managers from multiple functional teams. He/she will be required to design experiments and analyze experimental data from flight tests and simulation.

This position requires a candidate that can operate independently in an ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong skills in aircraft performance evaluation with a demonstrated ability to develop a high quality automated data analysis infrastructure.

Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or related field
· 3+ years of relevant work experience
· Experience with aerodynamics and simulation
· Ability to use and develop aerodynamic models and understand physics-based steady-state/dynamics
· Proficiency in at least one modern scientific scripting language (e.g., Matlab, Python, etc…)
· Excellent problem-solving ability
· Experience in developing tooling infrastructure to process large data sets
· Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines
