Job description

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for PhD students to join Amazon Research in Munich for a 3-6 month internship in 2020.

Amazon AI is looking for PhD students in machine learning, AI, statistics or related areas to join its AI Lab for an internship for 3 to 6 months. This group is entrusted with developing core machine learning algorithms for AWS primarily around the time series domain. Applications include anomaly detection and forecasting. As a part of the AI Lab you will invent, implement, and deploy state of the art machine learning algorithms and systems.

You will be at the heart of a growing and exciting focus area for AWS. We use both deep learning and probabilistic methods to solve exciting problems which require new methods more often than not. The typical results of an internships in the team are open-source contributions and a scientific article in collaboration with the team.

As part of the internship you will be a full member of one of our teams working with other scientists and software development engineers on completing a self-contained internship project. Specific challenges will be dealing with very large heterogenous datasets, designing novel algorithms that are robust and reliable, and efficient implementations that can run in production. Some internship projects also include the goal of publishing findings or open-sourcing code developed during the internship.
