Purpose of the role
As an airline Weight and Balance engineer, work on Flight management system configuration for airlines handled on Altea Departure Control. Work closely with the Data management team and Senior experts within Amadeus in delivering technical data analysis, system configuration and services provided to customers by the Data Management team.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform Airline Weight and Balance engineering (AHM560/565) data analysis; Support Departure Control System (DCS) data configuration for engineering, seating & business related data; Perform tests to validate aircraft Weight & Balance data
· Implement / Deliver Data services as part of the Data management services portfolio
· Support, Design & Evaluation of new system functionality adhering to flight safety / compliance requirements
· Specialist consultation to customers and end users, deliver technical workshops and or conduct training
· Development of departmental procedures and tools to support continuous improvements in efficiency, productivity and flight safety gains within the Data management team.
Requirements
Education
University Degree or equivalent
Relevant work experience
· Experience in the development of operational weight and balance limitations for airline operation (+3 years’ experience)
· Regular use of aircraft manufacturer’s technical documentation (+3 years’ experience)
· Mathematical & logical analysis of engineering data
· Experience in aircraft performance (desirable)
· Experience with working on the airport RAMP (desirable)
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and literate in Microsoft Word/PowerPoint
· Previous experience of delivering training (desirable)
· Problem solving ability, team working and attention to detail
Airline Applications
· Understanding of Civil Aviation Regulation
· Advanced knowledge of content of aircraft manufacturer’s Weight and Balance Manuals
· In depth knowledge of aircraft ground, flight and ramp operations (process & procedure)
Skills
· Computing - MS Office, Basics of computing
· Languages - Understanding of XML data structures, VBA Scripting (desirable)
· Specific Knowledge - Airline domain especially around Flight & RAMP operations
