London Heathrow

Our Research & Development Centre of Excellence in Heathrow, right in the heart of the travel community we serve, has close to 550 employees. They hold a variety of positions across R&D, Implementation, Digital, Airport IT, Airlines, Technology Platform Engineering and Corporate Services.

We’re based in a new, state-of-the-art building along the Heathrow Airport perimeter providing employees with a fresh, open and innovative environment, further driving our community team spirit and engagement.

Interns are an integral part of our UK teams and the Amadeus family. They are assigned to running critical tech projects that are rolled out internally or for customers (some of the world’s most recognized airlines and airports).

Here are a few examples of the advanced functional and technology challenges that you could assist our R&D teams at Heathrow to tackle:

· Standalone projects for world’s best-known airlines

· Supporting the airport digitalization
· Moving to the Cloud

As an intern you will contribute to:

· analyzing customer needs to create new software(s) or to improve existing one(s)
· run feasibility studies and design software technology(ies)
· develop software(s) by following Amadeus standards and quality guidelines,
· present your solutions to Product Managers & users to get feedback
· run unit, package and performance tests to ensure reliability
· go through the checking phases to ensure our software works for other people
· fine-tune our software(s) as a result of all tests
· produce software documentation necessary for the application and issuing it to the requesting departments

As our ideal candidate, you

· are pursuing Bachelor/Master Degree studies in Computer Science or related technical field,
· fluent in English
· have basic knowledges of software development
· have studied or experimented with C, C++ and/or Java, J2EE languages,
· have heard of or worked with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Java/Swing or AngularJS,
· have heard of or worked with RDBMS/SQL (Oracle preferred), NoSQL (MongoDB, Hadoop ecosystem), Standard Template Library and Unix/Linux,
· easily adapt to the constant evolution of the software technologies
· have a strong analytical thinking and customer focus
· have the willingness to learn, share your ideas, and improve yourself every day

Internship duration: 6-12 months
