Summary Overview of Responsibilities:

The Senior Software Development Engineer plays a key role to architect, implement and support innovative solutions for operational requirements. Its scope will encompass process automation solutions for the highly demanding Amadeus operational business domain. He/She is able to work with some autonomy and able to mentor, train younger staff.

Major Responsibilities:

· Analyze user requirements for development of new or improvement of existing operational software solutions.
· Participate or coordinate the definition of operational requirements for Amadeus software deliveries.
· Participate or coordinate to due diligence studies.
· Design, architect and deliver feasibility studies and sizing for complex solutions.
· Presentation of solutions to management with fully documented and analyzed proposals.
· Design and implement technical architecture for user interface, server side functionalities and re-usable components (framework).
· Interact with operational and development groups to maintain accuracy on Amadeus architectural knowledge.
· Identify, define and implement API for mission critical infrastructure components.
· Design and implement data warehouse or datamining solutions if necessary.
· Design and implement user interfaces taking into account usability standards.
· Software development.
· Coordinate and lead software development activity from end to end (requirement analysis, design, architecture, coding/implementation, testing, validation) with several people.
· Conduct unit, package and performance validation of the software and ensure high level quality.
· Coordinate the validation / acceptance phase of the product cycle ensuring the fine-tuning necessary to finalize the product.
· In case of incidents or problems, support and eventually coordinate the operational team diagnosis and recover from the service disruptions, report comprehensive status to management.
· Mentor, train younger staff.

Relevant Job Experience:
1. Qualification (School, university, equivalent, etc.):

· Engineering degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related technical field
· Applied Mathematics will be a plus
· Knowledge of ITIL is essential

2. Know How / Skills:

· Java development experience
· Pega PRPC v7.x development experience and Pega CLSA in v7.x
· PMF knowledge would be a plus
· Development experience on Unix/Linux systems
· Object Oriented Languages like C++, or Java, or equivalent
· Multithreading and System Linux programming will be a plus
· Good knowledge in Database programming: like SQL - MySql or Oracle
· Strong experience with Standard web and application server products, such as Apache, J2EE, JBOSS, Glassfish, WebLogic …
· Knowledge in scripting language such as Python, Ruby, Perl, Php …
· Experience in Usability and User Interface design will be highly appreciated
· Ability to work with latest Software Engineering methodology's (UML, Extreme/Agile Programming, BPM etc.)
