The Network Engineer’s role is to optimize multi-vendor platforms, and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications supported. This includes planning, installing, configuring, administering, securing, and tuning networks and operating systems and components across the organization in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of professional experience in Network Planning, Implementing, Configuring, Troubleshooting and Testing of a networking system in an Global enterprise environment on both Cisco and Juniper Networks
· Extensive experience with escalation problems for Routing, Switching and WAN connectivity issues using ticketing system.
· Extensive experience and knowledge of routing protocols like OSPF, MPLS, ISIS and BGP in a global enterprise environment.
· Extensive experience in WAN circuit provisioning, testing and implementing with various technologies (i.e. clear channel, Ethernet etc.) in a global environment.
· Extensive experience working on large enterprise Cisco Catalyst/Nexus and Juniper platforms.
· Extensive hands-on experience with complex routed WAN networks,routers and switches.
· Hands-on configuration and experience in setting up Cisco/Juniper routers/switches to perform functions at the Access, Distribution, and Core layers
· Proficiency in configuration of VLAN setup over variousCisco/JuniperRouters and Switches
· Experienced in trouble-shooting both connectivity issues and hardware problems on Cisco/Juniper based networks
· Extensive knowledge of OSPF, MPLS, ISIS, BGP, and TCP/IP.
· Hands-on experience in using network stimulator tool OPNET .
· Excellent leadership with good written and oral communication.
· Great team player and able to work under pressure.
· Strong knowledge in HSRP, VRRP redundancy Protocols .
· Experience in Network Management Tools and sniffers like SNMP, HP-Open view, Wireshark and Cisco works.
· Experience in physical cabling, IP addressing and subnetting with VLSM , configuring and supporting TCP/IP.
· Sound knowledge in CISCO and Palo Alto firewalls as well as encryption techniques.
· Extensive knowledge of advanced technologies like QOS, Multicasting, MPLS and MPLS-VPN
· Knowledge of F5 Big-IP load balancers
· Must be willing and able to support on call on a rotational basis.
