About the Team and the Role

Have you ever wondered how your seat is assigned to you when you are flying with your favourite airline? Are you curious to know what it takes to be upgraded to a seat in business class at the airport?We have the job for you!

You will join the team that develops and maintains the software that handles the complex logic to allocate seats to passengers in the plane, that allows the customer to choose their seat and the airlines to charge for specific seats as well as how to optimize the occupation of the plane by on loading or changing a customer from a cabin to another.

You will use your strong knowledge and skills in software development to fuel the technical vision and future design of the Seating application and provide your support to the other developers in the team to implement these. You will work with the other team members to ensure delivery of high quality of the customer requirements, and with the application architects to decide the future challenges for the Seating application.

What you’ll be doing

· Contributes to the planning of major projects providing sizings and costing.
· Acts as a technical authority for the Seating application, working in partnership with clients.
· Propose, enforce and implement processes and development techniques to drive the team towards technical excellence.
· Delivers, including personally producing, comprehensive and high quality operational software and documentation necessary for the application.
· Applies knowledge and skills through handling of complex problems and/or coordinating work, which may extend beyond own area of expertise.
· Is a lead contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction for others.

You’ll have the following technical skills:

· Strong developer work experience
· Excellent knowledge of C++
· RDMS / SQL (Oracle preferred)
· STL/Design patterns
· Python or other scripting language knowledge
· Unix
· Java and Java Swing

It’ll be a bonus if you have:

· Airline software experience
· Amadeus product knowledge
