Hours of Work:Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week plus paid overtime

(Occasional Saturday work may also be required)

The role - What will you be doing?

If you enjoy physical work and working outdoors, then this job is for you. You will normally work in a team and be responsible for loading and unloading delivery vehicles by hand or with a forklift truck, putting together customer orders, monitoring supplies and informing your manager when stocks are running low.

To be a yard operative, you will need to be physically fit and able to work safely. Experience of using a forklift truck will be useful.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles by hand or with a forklift truck.
• Sorting and grading stock.
• Moving supplies to storage areas.
• Picking and packing orders.
• Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
• Checking customer orders are completed properly and on time.
• Answering questions from customers when required.
• Other duties as may be requested by the management.

You - what are the requirements?

• You must have experience of warehouse work or construction site labouring and/or a forklift truck licence.
• You must enjoy manual work and working outdoors.
• Experience of gas cutting and/or welding is highly desirable.
• You must be enthusiastic, friendly, dynamic, self-motivated.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and common sense are a must.
