Purpose of the Job

The Track Joint Venture (TJV) builds the Track of the Riyadh Metro Project Line 4, 5 & 6.

The TJV HSE Engineer/Officer will be responsible for advice and ensure implementation of the Health, Safety & Environment Plans and Procedures at site for HSE Compliances.

Mission

Objectives

To implement HSE Plans and Policies and  Ensure enforce HSE compliances during track work construction / tests

Responsibilities

·  HSE Engineers and Officers are accountable to the HSE Managers for the occupational health and safety performance of his worksite. The responsibilities assigned to HSE Engineers and Officers shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following:
·  Ensure that all personnel at the work site are trained in the contents of the relevant work method statements and Job Hazard Analysis  
·  Ensure that all personnel required to work at the relevant workplace are inducted accordingly.
·  Ensure that employees are provided with and trained in the proper use of plant and equipment and PPE to a level of competency that shall eliminate risks to their health and safety
·  Assist in the reporting and investigation of incidents and accidents and ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken where required
·  Ensure that sub-contractors and their employees adhere to their health and safety obligations, including evidencing proof of compliance by providing documentation for equipment.
·  Conduct daily inspections of the work place to ensure observance of occupational safety and health standards.
·  Update the incident record and report it to the H&S Manager.
·  Report on the results of his activity to the Health and Safety Manager.

Candidate Requirements

Educational Requirements

Engineering / university degree/recognized HSE Qualifications.

Desired Knowledge / Experience

Safety Officer/Engineer on construction sites

3 to 10 years of working experience as a HSE Engineer/ officer in a railway company or civil works company

Behavioural Skills / Competencies

Leadership, initiative and decision minded

Team spirit approach and good communication skills

Knowledge of Word and Excel.
