Job Title: Project Sourcing Manager
Job Location: 1 Transit Drive, Hornell, New York, NY 14843 and various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
Job Type: Full Time
Duties: Coordinate project Sourcing Activities with Project Manager and Project engineering manager to ensure engineering materials needed for transportation projects such as train renovation projects are secured at optimal costs; conduct sourcing DFQ reviews to demonstrate technical, quality, supply chain and logistics readiness at sub-system level; evaluate technical and commercial proposals submitted by supplier and drive supplier selection to optimize QCD; coordinate design review with supplier and Alstom engineering through project life cycle; participate and represent sourcing function in the design reviews/project gate reviews; establish project plan to manage design reviews and technical deliverables from the supplier to meet project schedule; manage master data in SAP to facilitate procurement process; coordinate activities between Alstom engineering and supplier from design phase to FAI (First article inspection) meeting various milestones during the process; define and implement the project sourcing strategy in full respect of QCD commitments; animate supplier selection through Business Award process; ask for arbitration when relevant, and supervise contracts; perform execution of selected suppliers supported by SQA and Supply Chain; facilitate co-operation between Engineering and Sourcing; lead improvement plans (ASIP); challenge buyers and project teams to generate cost optimization ideas; ensure actions are documented and savings calculated in a total cost of ownership bases; make sure that supplier selection is made in compliance with Platform Sourcing strategy (panel, LCC objectives, and dual sources).
Requirements: Employer will accept Master’s degree in Management, Project Management, Engineering (any) or related field; and two years of work experience in job offered or two years of work experience in a sourcing, purchasing, or engineering related occupation. Experience must include one year of experience with each of the following: SAP R/3- Materials Master module; SAP R/3- Engineering Change Master module; PTC Pro/Engineering; SAP; cProjects; Project Task Management; Module,PDMLink; and Product Data Management Module. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
