Alstom develops systems, equipment and services for the railway sector, from High-Speed Trains to Metros & Tramways – and associated maintenance, modernisation, infrastructure and signalling solutions. World leader in integrated railway systems. We recorded sales of €6.2 billion and booked €10 billion of orders over 2014/15 fiscal year. Alstom is present in over 60 countries and employs 32,000 people today.
In Algeria we currently employ around 300 people over 6 project sites, and participate to the joint-venture Cital, for the assembly and maintenance of Citadis tramways located in Annaba.
Alstom has supplied integrated tramway systems to the cities of Algiers, Oran and Constantine and infrastructure for the tramways of Ouargla, Mostagamen and Setif undertaken by EMA.
Alstom is also supporting the development plan by SNTF ,which aims at increasing the number of passengers and freight transported by the railway.
Essential Responsibilities
The T&C Engineer will be responsible for leading tests with great complexity ensuring correct and safe functioning of the proposed railroad signaling solution. The successful candidate will have the ability to resolve issues through immediate action and short-term action as well as strategic planning.
In addition, you will:
-Perform and analyze basic and advanced integrated field testing needed for railroad signaling applications on site and with railroad customer’s technical teams
-Write and develop test procedures, test forms and programs to automate and monitor tests
-Maintain the execution of tests under compliance of EHS defined standards
-Analyze regular test results and provide test summaries to manager and project management teams
-Promote constant and structured communication with the other engineering functions such as Application and System Engineers, as well as with other test engineers
-Perform solution-oriented troubleshooting to close successful system commissioning
-Create and manage overall scheduling for assigned tests
Qualifications/Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (Electronics – computer science – telecommunications etc…)
-Willingness and ability to travel 95% of the time, both domestically and internationally
Desired Characteristics:
-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physical science
-Railroad experience
-Solid oral and written communication skills
-Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
-Ability to work independently
