Purpose of the Job
Under the responsibility of the Construction Manager, the Flash Butt Welder will have in charge the following tasks:
• Organisation and implementation for the operation of the Flash Butt Welding Machine
· Supervision of the welding process and working party
· Preventive and curative maintenance for Flash Butt Welding Machine and heavy tools involved in welding process
· Organisation and management of the maintenance schedule
· Management of the consumable required to ensure an efficient maintenance Responsibility
• The Flash Butt Welder (based on site) reports directly to the Construction Manager (or his delegate) and is in charge of making sure that the required resources to enable the best welding process efficiency is implemented on his site.
• The Flash Butt Welder will be mainly responsible for the maintenance of the mobile machine (Flash Butt Welding Machine and all associated tools)
• The Flash Butt Welder will have the responsibility for the supervision of the whole installation and maintenance activities performed
• During the contract works progress, the Flash Butt Welder is required to organise the Welding process tasks, in a competent and consistent way, so that activities are properly controlled and the safety and reliability of the concerned plant and equipment perfectly achieved.
Educational Requirements
Engineer specialised in heavy duty railway welding machines and railway equipment’s
Desired Knowledge / Experience
• Diploma in Electronic - Mechanical Engineering
· Minimum of 2 years experiences in operation of similar Welding Machine Technical Skills & Competencies
• Good Knowledge in Rail Welding Process
· Knowledge of the all machinery’s electromechanical railway equipment
· Good knowledge of the Hydraulics systems
· Good knowledge of the Electrical systems
· Speak, read and write English
