Role Overview

We are looking for a Technical Specialist to join our Batch Operations team, responsible for the monitoring, scheduling, and support of batch processing environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mainframe and Linux-based batch scheduling tools, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a production support setting, including on-call rotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage batch job scheduling using Control-M
• Develop and maintain JCL for batch processing workflows
• Perform Basic Linux system administration tasks and troubleshoot issues in production environments
• Write and maintain scripts (Shell/Python/Perl) to automate operational tasks
• Provide production support, including incident diagnosis, resolution, and escalation
• Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure 24x7 batch operations support
• Track and manage incidents, changes, and service requests via Jira and ServiceNow (SNOW)
• Use GitHub for version control and collaborative code/script management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve batch processing reliability

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language)
• Hands-on experience with Control-M monitoring and scheduling
• Proficiency in Linux administration and command-line operations
• Scripting experience (Shell, Python, or similar)
• Working knowledge of GitHub for source control
• Experience with Jira and ServiceNow (SNOW) for ticketing and incident management
• Prior experience in a production support role
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a batch operations(Control-M) or mainframe environment
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills under pressure
