Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks. We also focus on delivering bespoke training plans that help our clients optimize risk management procedures in the long term.

The Impact You Will Have  

Reporting to the Global Head of Marine Risk Consulting, this role is responsible for providing loss control expertise, support and assistance to AzC and its customers, to assist Allianz underwriting in risk selection and retention. Provide ongoing co-ordination and monitoring of the loss control activity/servicing of assigned accounts & loss control survey work to assist with servicing of assigned accounts. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with Underwriting, Market Management, Communications, Claims, clients and brokers. Maintain and enhance technical skills and expertise in respective field to support the business.                                                                                                                                                                                        

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:  

  • Complete desk top reviews and risk assessments for Builer's risk, Motor truck cargo, Monoline property and Warehouse legal liability (pre & post binding) as requested by Underwriting.
  • Work with underwriting, claims, the client and the broker where appropriate to develop customized loss control programs including locations to be surveyed (or included as part of continuing service), scope and cost of risk consulting services.
  • Generate and review required reports and recommendations. Meet reporting deadlines in accordance with departmental performance objectives.
  • Survey client operations obtain appropriate data, identify hazards, discuss findings with appropriate parties. Generate loss control reports, recommendations etc.
  • Appoint/monitor 3rd parties ensuring adequate contract/controls in place with budgets agreed up front. Check and ensure quality of work provided by 3rd parties.
  • Assist AzC and clients with respect to ongoing or specific projects. Support technical training presentations for internal and external clients as required/appropriate.

What You’ll Bring to the Role   

  • A minimum 3 years’ loss prevention engineering experience in Inland Marine, Construction & Property.
  • Good knowledge and professional experience in business sectors.
  • Insurance risk consulting experience and a professional engineering license is a definite plus. Experience working in a Global Organization with the ability to adapt to change.
  • A bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline (preferably in a line associated with his/her line of business). Other discipline will be considered in conjunction with extensive technical experience.
  • A demonstrable engineering/technical expertise. Commitment to maintaining knowledge of developments and new technologies in field. Able to work technical loss control topics. Knowledge of specific business sectors.
  • Written and verbal communication skills. Presentation skills in a varied environment. Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US and Canada as required, with some international travel possible.
  • The ability to utilize AI tools to support day-today tasks, improve efficiency, and contribute to data-driven decision-making is valuable. A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization is expected.

The annualized base pay range for this role is $95,359 - $148,418. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
