We are looking for a Risk Consultant focussing on Power and Renewable Energy, to work out of our Paris la Défense office.
Your Team
Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks.
The Impact You Will Have
Based in Paris and reporting directly to the Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) Regional Natural Resources and Construction Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing loss control expertise, supporting and assisting our customers.
As a member of the global ARC Power team you will assist the underwriting team in risk selection, to implement prevention plans and to provide technical expertise to the claims department.
This position requires strong relationship skills in order to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers and brokers, underwriting and claims teams, as well as becoming a full member of the global Power team.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Perform desktop reviews and risk assessments of the various renewable energy and power projects submitted by underwriting (wind farms, photovoltaic and solar plants, Battery Energy Storage Systems …) summarizing exposures and controls
Participate in client meetings to assist underwriters and promote loss prevention activities
Work with clients and brokers to develop customized and cost effective loss control plan programs
Conduct site visits or co-ordinate third party surveys
Revise and validate plant maintenance plans
Generate and review reports, and issue necessary recommendations
Monitor loss control measures and keep cost expenses within budget
Review claims reports and support claims department in the adjustment process in terms of technical input and collecting Risk Management example material
Monitor technical developments and regulations in the industry to inform Allianz Commercial’s strategic direction
What You’ll Bring to the Role
With a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree (ideally to Master’s level) you have significant engineering experience in the renewable energy (ideally windfarms), power generation, plant maintenance and risk management sectors, based out of France.
GWO certified (or ready to be)
You are a self-starter, able to develop and implement initiatives
You have a strategic mind-set; future focused
Excellent team spirit, work ethic and strong communication skills
You are able to travel on regular basis, mostly in France and occasionally in Europe or beyond
You are IT proficient, including an interest in using AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency, and contribute to data-driven decision-making
You are fluent in French and in English (other languages would be a plus)
